Craniofacial growth guidance depends upon complete balancing of maxilomandibular complex and it should have perfect occlusal relationships, i.e., no interference of dental or skeletal components. Anterior crossbite can present either dental, skeletal or functional characteristics making the differential diagnosis essential for good planning and treatment. The use of a removable progenic appliance have shown satisfying in the treatment of functional anterior crossbite to achieve good occlusion and normal neurofunction. This appliance works either on dental positioning, guidance of mandibular growth and maxillary growth, contributing in a great extent for the treatment of malocclusions.
