Appraisal of the facial growth tendency - Björk - Jarabak method

Our goal was to show concisely, by mean of one x-ray only, how to determine the facial growth tendency according to BJÖRK - JARABAK method, so as to facilitate decisions about the use of the most proper orthodontic appliance influencing facial growth positively. We heve employed sella (S-N-Ar), Goniac (Ar-Go-Gn) and Articular (S-Ar-Go) angles and the lenghts of the polygon sides (Figs. 2 to 6). In the practice one of the main factors that catch the professional’s attention is the behavior of the facial growth. Therefore, the methods that aim at revealing the pattern of facial growth or that demonstrate its growth tendency and have easy employ arouse clinical interest, since a professional is always attempting to improve his diagnose, in order to better support his treatment plan. The presentation of two clinical cases seeks to inlustrate the use of the method.
