Clinical Applications of the Mandibular Protaction Appliance

The directional forces generated by anterior mandibular positioning through the use of fixed orthopaedic appliances has been strongly employed since last decade. Among the existing treatment options for Class II treatment is the Mandibular Protraction Appliance. This is a domestic device that can be made by the own orthodontist at the patient´s chairside in just about thirty minutes including installation. Its construction sequence and application in five different clinical situations are demonstrated.
