Stability after Mandibular Advancement. Cephalometric Study

The authors present a cephalometric study of stability following BSSO for mandibular advancement with wire osteossynthesis and intermaxilary fixation. Results have shown great range of variability in the samples and mean relapse rates of 50% (Goí-Meí ), 26% (Ní-Meí), 18% (Co-Me). There were no positive relation between relapse rates and preoperative craniofacial pattern. The authors concluded that additional fixation methods should be indicated to improve results.
