The purpose of this study was to present the utilization of an implant system situated on the palate. The implant would be prescribed when a maximum anchorage is necessary, in patients with Class II division 1 malocclusion. This research has been developed at FOUSP. Is is hereby described the first step of the treatment, which refers to the surgical procedure of the installation of the implant. The surgical planning is based on several disgnosis means such as dental casts, x-rays and individual plastic trays. The surgical procedure consists of the removal of an amount of palatal soft tissue equivalent to the diameter of the implant (4,2 mm). The osteointegration occurs within three months folowing the installation of the implant. Then, the anchorage bar which joins the support teeth to the implant can be installet. The implants is removed at the end of the orthodontic treatment with an explantation drill.
