Dental Transpositions - A Dilemma in Orthodontic Treatment

Teeth transposition is a challenge in malocclusion treatment, presenting 0.4% prevalent, so sometimes one may face this situation. Therefore, a dilemma arises for the orthodontist: to revert the dental positions and achieve a better esthetic and functional result, facing the potential risks concerning this approach; or mantain the malposition, to make easier the mechanics with the convevience of lack of risks; however, esthetically and functionally it does not please ether the patient or the professional. Two transposition cases of maxillary canine and first premolar are shown to justify these clinical decisions.
