The Phono-Audiology Treatment for Patients Submitted to Orthognatic Surgery

The purpose of this study is to discuss the importance of the phono-audiology treatment for the patients submitted to orthognatic surgery. The orthodontic surgery patient suffers dental and osseous changes. However, there is few studies which show how to adapt the muscles to this new face. Therefore this may cause relapse problems. The adaptation of the orofacial muscles and the breathing, chewing and swallowing disorders are a subject that needs more attention and research.
