Facial Profile: Cephalometrics Modifications in Treated Cases with Premolars Extractions and Directional Force Mechanics

Cephalometrics roentgenograms were used to evaluete tegumentar profile of 80 patients orthodontically treated, 40 with Class I and 40 with Class II Division 1 Angle maloclusion. The Class I Angle group had a mediun age at the beginning of the treatment of 13 years and 7 months and the Class II Division 1 Angle group a mediun age of 13 years and 5 months. All were treated with corrective fixed appliance upper na lower arch, edgewise mechanics and tecnology of the directional force sequence or TenTwo Tweed-Merrifield system, extraction of premolars and clinically well finished. It was evaluated possible modifications of the facial tegumentar profile occuring with the orthodontic treatment, a comparison of the cephalometric mediun values after the treatment with pre stablished values and the relationship between chamges of the upper and lower incisors position with the modification of the facial profile.
