Proposal of an Appliance to Acomplish Palatal Disjunction - The Marinho’s Butterfly

The Rapid Maxillary Expansion is an orthopedic treatment used to correct both uni or bilateral cross bites, caused by any tranversal maxillary defficiency, with the advantage of spending less time for the treatment. This article describes a new appliance to do the palatal disjunction – the BUTTERFLY T. MARINHO’s, not only that, but it gives the indicatios of this kind of treatment, activation, adaptation and fixation technique.
