Surgically assisted Maxillary Expansion under Local Anesthesia

Surgically assisted palatal expansion is a procedure used for management of true maxillary transverse deficiencies in patients with skeletal maturity. The use of a simplified technique under local anesthesia allows the correction of this discrepancy with low index of complications and long-term stability, becoming a good alternative for the treatment of these patients.
