The Incidence of Malocclusion in Children between 3 to 6 Years of Age

Paulo Roberto de Jesus LENCI

The great incidence of malocclusion, and specially the problems that take place afterwards such as: the lack of space for the teeth in the archs, periodontal diseases, muscles dysfunctions, oral facial pain, condilar disorders etc., that can reach the young as well the adults made us look for the reason, why all this happen and why dentistry still gives more importance in treating the problems instead of preventing them. With this in mind we got to know and understand the Neuro Occlusal Rehabilitation concept, described by Prof. Dr. Pedro Planas from Barcelona, Spain. When we understand how the stomatognatic system works, we can also understand how it grows and develops. Knowing how the occlusal problems take place, we should, as soon as possible, interfere in order to rehabilitate the patient and guide those that still don’t have it. It is easy and does not demand much money, what makes it a good and efficient way for public health programs as well for the daily dentistry practice.
