Elastic in Orthodontics: Behavior and Clinical Application

Intraoral elastics have been indispensable tools of orthodontic treatment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and measure by force of several diameters of elastic used in seeking an alternative method to establish the magnitude of force liberated by each type of elastic. After the analysis of the results, arrived the conclusion that the elastic suffer a variation of force among the several marks, diameters and magnitudes, where it is ended that the obtained results only work as reference, and for a precise force you need necessary use of the precision dynamometer.
