Correlation between Severity of Malocclusion and Sex, Age, School of 6-12 year-old Children in Araraquara

The present study was done to investigate the correlation between sex, age, school and severity of malocclusion in 930 children, 6-12 year old, being 48,06% males and 51,94% females, students of public and private schools from Araraquara / SP. It was used the Treatment Priority Index to establish the malocclusion severity. According with the obtained data, 85,92% of the children presented some type of occlusal abnormality. The results showed no statistical evidence that the sex, age and school have some significant effect in the severity of malocclusion.
