In spite of the agreement on the importance of the analysis of the soft tissue of the face in orthodontic clinic, the involved factors in the perception of the facial esthetics, as well as those related to the analysis itself, can be not noticed by the professionals. A discerning evaluation of the proportions and balance among the diagnosis and the orthodontic planning. This paper has as objective to let the professionals aware of the need of evaluating carefully the facial characteristics in orthodontic diagnostic, exalting the several forms of the perception of the eshetic and the facial alterations occurred with the orhodontic growth and treatment.
