Temporomandibular disorder symptomatology in patients submitted to orthodontic and surgical-orthodontic treatment

The temporomandibular disorders (TMD) involve a large number of clinical problems caused by series of factors which are still controversial. There are reports in literature which state that the orthodontic and the orthosurgical treatments may interfere in the TMD. This work compared the TMD signs and symptoms in ive groups of patients and the results suggest that both treatments minimize or alleviate the symptomatology of the TMJ.
