Clinic evaluation of different oral antiseptic in redution degree gingivitis in fixed orthodontic appliance patients

The aim to evaluate the effectiveness of three different types of treatment for reducing of gingivitis, in ixed orthodontic appliance patients, evaluated 31 patients at Orthodontic Specialization Clinic from Fop-UPE. The patients presented different degree gingivitis (low, moderate and severe), being used the gingival index Löe, Silness (1963) for clinic analysis of gingiva. Had been divided into three groups with different types of treatment: mechanical control, mechanical chemical control with Listerine or mechanical chemical with Periogard. All patients received training speciic and motivation for treatment, had been revise after 30 days. The results showed that the treatments reduced the gingivitis different levels, without any statistical signiicance difference between them. Concluded that the treatments had equally eficient for controlling the gingival health, during the orthodontics treatment.
