Shear bond strength - in vitro - evaluation of different orthodontics adhesives

In order to scientiically obscure the orthodontists choice of bonding material in orthodontic accessories, this work evaluates in vitro, the bonding strength of several different adhesive materials, commonly available on the market, by means of mechanical shear tests, in accordance with the norm ISO/TR11405. Although, all the materials tested showed clinically adequate adhesive strength, may it be noted that the hydrophilic Ortho Solo (Ormco) showed a signiicantly stronger bonding strength when compared to the others.
