The influence of medication on orthodontic tooth movement - a critical review of the literature

In this work the pertinent literature concerning the inluence of medication in the induced dental movement appraising the experimental methods to correlate them with the applicability and extrapolation was critically analyzed for the orthodontic clinic. Owed the experimental works they be done in animals, that they have a time of life short, the doses of the medicines are high and the very long administration periods. Therefore, one cannot afirm about any alteration in the induced dental movement caused by some medication type that the patient makes use during the orthodontic treatment.
