Objective: The objective of this paper is to describe a new anesthetic technique for isolated block of the lingual nerve. Methods: A short needle, 25mm 30G, should be introduced 45 degrees to the bone base of the jaw until it touches the bone, about 3 mm below the lingual bone crest of the mandibular third molar or distal to the mandibular second molar. After a slight backward movement, anesthetic is injected. Conclusion: The isolated block of the lingual nerve, when recommended, can be a good option, as well as it limit the transient paresthesia of the surgical area, can provide greater comfort to the patient as well as being an economical technique.
