Referências: a case of a patient diagnosed with this syndrome, as well as to present a thorough review of the literature. Although conservative treatment is a viable option, surgery (intra or extraoral) shows up as the most effective option in cases of persistent symptoms. In this case, it was conducted an intraoral surgical approach to bilateral styloidectomy, because in addition to being safer, allowed less surgical time, better postoperative recovery and absence of cutaneous scar.
