Bichectomy as facial aesthetic procedure: Prospective observational study

Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate morbidity, possible sequels and the satisfaction of patients submitted to the bichectomy esthetic procedure. Methods: 16 patients undergoing the procedure were prospectively analyzed through a questionnaire, clinical examination and subjective photographs analysis. Results: This study revealed good results regarding patient satisfaction, with female patients showing satisfaction with the aesthetic result, while male patients noticed greater functional gain; in addition, it was observed low morbidity and low risk of complications, with only two cases of infections, treated with oral antibiotics. Conclusions: It was possible to conclude that bichectomy provides aesthetic improvements in the facial contour with safety and low morbidity.
