Introduction: Tooth autotransplantation may be indicated in certain situations, such as in dentoalveolar traumas, replacement of teeth with poor prognosis, developmental abnormalities, ectopic eruption and impacted teeth. Objective: The objective of this study is to report a case in which a 8-year-old patient was diagnosed with impaction of tooth #35 in horizontal position, so that orthodontic traction would not be possible, and autotransplantation was chosen to resolve the case. Conclusion: At seven years’ follow-up, the transplanted tooth was in position and maintaining occlusion with the maxillary arch. From proper indication and correct use of the technique, the dental autotransplantation presented as a good alternative for the resolution of the case.
