Esthetic restorative treatment of enamel hypoplasia: A case report

Introduction / An esthetically pleasing smile encourages many patients to search for alternative treatment so as to improve or modify their anterior teeth, especially in cases of intrinsic chromatic alterations caused by defects in enamel and dentin structures. / Objective / his paper describes a case of enamel hypoplasia associated with chromatic alterations with white, yellow-brown stains on maxillary anterior teeth, compromising patient's smile. / Methods / Treatment was based on the combination of tooth bleaching and enamel microabrasion, followed by resin composite restorative intervention. / Results / Results were extremely satisfactory, because it was possible to reproduce the natural efects of translucency, opalescence and luorescence through the resin composite stratiied technique, thereby reproducing tooth polychromatism.
