Sixteen years post-treatment outcomes of a Class II, division 1, subdivision right malocclusion

Abstract: This article reports the diagnosis, planning and execution of orthodontic treatment in a patient aged 11 years and 5 months, whose main complaint was aesthetic and functional. The patient presented with pronounced Class II, division 1, right subdivision Angle’s malocclusion with consequently increased overjet and overbite, and very convex facial profile. It was carried out orthopedic treatment control using an extraoral appliance with high-pull traction and orthodontic treatment without extractions, correcting the asymmetry in the lower arch, with great improvement in occlusion and patient’s facial profile. The initial, final and 16 years posttreatment exams are presented and discussed according to the recommended standards adopted by the Brazilian Board of Orthodontics.
