Forces do not make turns

Renato Parsekian Martins

This article aims to describe what is a force and what are its characteristics. Because it is a vetor, a force is not able to make curves and will act in a linear path. An example of a clinical case is shown where an unlitareal space is opened in the lower arch of a paitent. In that case, superimposition of acculsal pictures show that teeth displacement occurs in parallel to the line of action of the force. Cocnlusion points towards the midline correction, describing midline discrepancy in this particular case as a consequence of an anteroposterior problem rather than a primary problem.
