Vitor Hugo Panhóca, Vanderlei Salvador Bagnato

Introduction: In most clinical cases, Class II malocclusion is related with mandibular distocclusion, which can be best treated with mandibular propulsion devices, with: skeletal, dentoalveolar and facial soft tissues effects. Objective: This paper presents a new type of functional fixed orthodontic appliance capable of treating Class II malocclusions. Methods: Two cases were treated by combining multi-bracket appliances and mandibular propulsive appliance (MP). Results: Treatment results with MP were aesthetically and functionally favorable. Conclusion: MP proved to be an excellent device for orthopedic and dentoalveolar correction of Class II malocclusion, achieving normal and functional occlusion, balancing facial esthetics of treated patients.

Keywords: Malocclusion, Angle Class II. Mandibular advancement. Laser therapy, low-level.
