The goal for the Zeal project was to communicate our values in the environment. The word zeal in Portuguese is zelo which according to the Online Portuguese Dictionary means: “Great care and concern that is dedicated to someone or something.” The environment should translate welcome, empathy, security and care. A living room with wood tones was preferred to bring the feeling of welcome. The space was attached to the kitchen, with cozy furniture, translating the feeling of being in a house. The goal was to avoid the standard entrance of clinics, with couches or waiting chairs in front of a receptionist’s counter. For this, we opted for the entrance lounge without a counter and without the administrative office used for appointments and bureaucratic matters with patients (Fig 1).
