Surgical-orthodontic treatment of Class III malocclusion.

After the growth spurt, skeletal Class III malocclusion treatment is restricted to dental compensation or orthodontic-surgical treatment. Patient’s dissatisfaction with esthetics and the impossibility of disguise due to the skeletal deformity leads to the second treatment option. Thus, correct treatment planning and implementation are necessary to achieve satisfactory outcomes. The objective of the present paper is to report the orthodontic- surgical treatment of a skeletal Class III malocclusion patient with mandibular prognathism and significant esthetic complaint.
