Retreatment of Class I malocclusion associated with severe mandibular incisors protrusion and anterior crossbite: Case report

Objective: The aim of the present study was to report a case of Class I malocclusion associated with severe protrusion of mandibular incisors and anterior crossbite, caused by previous inadequate orthodontic treatment. The patient was submitted to asymmetrical extractions of maxillary second premolars and mandibular first premolars. The new treatment was then conducted with the aid of orthodontic mini-implants for the anterior retraction. Conclusion: At the end of the treatment, correct incisors inclination, proper disocclusion guides, improvement of the facial profile and correct occlusal relationship were achieved.
