Vertical control with aligners: Strategies arising from fixed mechanics

Renato Parsekian MARTINS

Introduction: There are numerous situations in which previous contacts and the lack of flatness of the curve of Spee can prevent the success of tooth movement. Objective: This article aims to suggest three strategies to improve the predictability of mandibular canine and incisor intrusion. Conclusion: We can use knowledge grounded in mechanics and applied in fixed orthodontics to assist in solving problems in orthodontics with aligners.

Keywords: Aligners. Vertical control. Mini-implants. Skeletal anchorage. Biomechanics.
